As our wedding clients have continued to progress through their lives and families it's only natural that we begin to see their families grow. I pride myself on having a rather specific set of images I prefer to do and do well. I begin with Engagement portraits on to the wedding, continuing to Maternity and finally the newborn baby images.

With Newborn Images, the key is getting the sitting between 1 day to 14 days after their birth.

At 1-14 days, babies have the ability to still get into the fetal position they 

spent 9 months in.

I find tremendous satisfaction in all of my special sessions. However, Newborn sessions leave me feeling so satisfied and happy. I suppose it's the prospect of this new life and all the possibilities it holds. The calm that can be found in a new babies sleeping moments is like nothing I've ever experienced. With all of my own children I felt that same sense of awe when they would sleep. I am so very privileged to be allowed into my clients' home and allowed to photograph their most prized possession.

In this day of large and often expensive wedding, many couples face hard choices in order to meet their budget. Many find it hard to justify the cost of a professional videographer. Unfortunately, many Brides and Grooms later regret their decision to “have Uncle Tom do the video.”

For the Bride and Groom, your wedding is a moment in your life that will only come once. You want to hold onto every memory. Because so many weddings are large, complicated affairs however, the Bride & Groom often find themselves excluded from some of the most wonderful moments. While the parents and grandparents are escorted down the aisle to their front row seats, for example, the Bride is locked away in a back room. Pictures will help fill in this gap, but to capture all the sights and sounds that were missed you will need a professional, high definition video with quality sound.

With multiple camera coverage, a professional videography crew can help you preserve every moment for later viewing. Not just still images of the Bride in her gown but the way she moved in it, the way she danced in it, the way she walked down the aisle and the way her husband reacted when he first saw her.

Why can’t Uncle Tom record all of this? Well, professional videographers have special tripods to keep their images from appearing jerky and for producing smooth transitions with the camera’s zoom lens. (unless of course that's what we are going for in our brides that want a more cinematic approach. A professional video team will also have special microphones, including wireless lapel microphones for the groom or minister.  This is especially crucial in outdoor weddings where most of your guests won’t actually hear the vows, but they are being recorded beautifully in your video. Most important, professional videographers have years of experience with capturing all of the critical moments of your wedding, things that cannot be “restaged” later on.

Weddings happen in the blink of an eye.  Once gone, you cannot recapture any moments you may have missed. When trying to eliminate items in your suddenly too-expensive plans, don’t forget that a professional video may cost five percent of your wedding day budget, but it will contain 95 percent of the memories.
